I saw a family enjoying weather in a public park. One of their children was running towards a ball. He suddenly hit with a stone and fell down on the ground. Only one woman rushed toward that child with anxiety and no need to tell that she was the mother.
A mother is the only person who can properly raise her child. No one can take a mother’s place. Islam teaches us that we should also treat our mother with kindness and affection as she looked after us during childhood.
Abu Huraira reported that a person came to Allah,’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said : Who among the people is most deserving of a fine treatment from my hand ? He said : Your mother. He again said : Then who (is the next one) ? He said: Again it is your mother (who deserves the best treatment from you). He said: Then who (is the next one) ? He (the Holy Prophet) said : Again, it is your mother. He (again) said: Then who? Thereupon he said: Then it is your father.
This Hadith shows that mother deserve a fine treatment even three times more than father. But in most cases children treat their father with some better way in the fear of his anger but due to the over humbleness of mother, they treat her badly.
We cannot pay back the sacrifices and grieves of our mother that she suffered while raising us. We have not been even asked to pay back. We are just asked to show mercy and kindness to our mother. Don’t talk to her in harsh manner. Don’t show bad attitude to her. Look after her and fulfill her needs when she get old. There is no alternate of a mother. Give value to this treasure who have it and who have lost their mothers… Many prayers for them..
